Hackers have stolen the personal data of 4.5 million jobs seekers from Monster.co.uk (the online recruitment site.) Names, passwords, telephone numbers, email addresses, birth dates, sex and ethnicity data as well as other ‘demographic information’ was stolen The Times reported.
It’s unlikely the bad guys will be inviting the job seekers to attend interviews in the near future; unfortunately, it’s another example of the need to safeguard personal information like you would your house keys. After all, you wouldn’t want just anyone sitting on your sofa when you arrived home would you?
